Wystawa przygotowana została z okazji jubileuszu Śląskiego Teatru Lalki i Aktora Ateneum.

7 czerwca 1945 roku Juliusz Glatty podpisaniem umowy z Wojewódzkim Zarządem Związku Walki Młodych w Katowicach na prowadzenie teatru lalek rozpoczął bowiem 80-letnią już historię Ateneum. Bardzo szybko zrealizował pierwszą premierę, baśń Marii Kownackiej Dzielny szewczyk; spektakl odbył się 3 września 1945 w sali koncertowej Wojewódzkiego Domu Kultury przy ul. Francuskiej.

Wśród archiwalnych materiałów znajdziemy na wystawie historyczne perełki, jak plakat do farsy Mistrz Piotr Pathelin z 1951 roku, lalkowego przedstawienia dla dorosłych w inscenizacji założyciela i pierwszego dyrektora sceny, Juliusza Glatty’ego, wycinki z powojennej prasy, fotografie czy afisze z okresu, kiedy Katowice przemianowane były na Stalinogród.

Są też oczywiście plakaty i zdjęcia z przedstawień będących w bieżącym repertuarze oraz aktualne fotografie całego zespołu Teatru.

The exhibition was prepared to celebrate the anniversary of the Silesian Puppet and Actor Theatre Ateneum.

On 7 June 1945, with the signing by Juliusz Glatty of a contract with the Provincial Board of the Union of Youth Fighters in Katowice to run a puppet theatre, the 80-year history of Ateneum began. The first premiere, a fairy tale by Maria Kownacka, Dzielny szewczyk, took place very quickly; the performance was on 3 September 1945 in the concert hall of the Provincial House of Culture at Francuska Street.

Among the archival materials, the exhibition includes historical gems such as a poster for the farce „Master Piotr Pathelin” from 1951, a puppet show for adults staged by the theatre’s founder and first director, Juliusz Glatty, postwar press clippings, photographs, and posters from the period when Katowice was renamed Stalinogród.

There are also, of course, posters and photos from performances in the current repertoire, as well as current portraits of the entire ensemble and the Theatre’s management team.
