Bękart! / Bastard!

Bękart! inspirowany powieścią Borisa Viana Wyrywacz serc to surrealistyczna, pełna ironii, ale też chwilami wzruszająca historia, w której groteska miesza się z tragikomedią i absurdem, a oryginalna forma plastyczna i perfekcyjna gra aktora-tancerza, łączącego animację lalki z animacją własnego ciała, bardzo silnie oddziałują na emocje widza.

Artystyczny dorobek Dudy Paivy stanowi świetny przykład na to, jak ciekawe efekty może przynosić odważne eksperymentowanie z łączeniem różnych gatunków sztuk, nawet tak z pozoru odległych, jak nowoczesny taniec i nowoczesny teatr lalek. (Halina Waszkiel, Teatr, 4/2012)

Duda Paiva creates plays at the meeting point of dance, puppet theater and multimedia. Together with his stage partners, carved out of flexible foam, he creates unique, elusive, magical, sometimes painful worlds dominated by the artist’s specific sense of humor.

Bastard! inspired by Heartsnatcher, the novel by Boris Vian. is a surreal, full of irony, but at times also touching story in which the grotesque is mixed with tragicomedy and absurdity, and the original artistic form and perfect acting of the actor-dancer combining the animation of the doll with the animation of his own body affects the viewers’ emotions in a very powerful way.

The artistic achievements of Duda Paiva are a great example of how bold experimentation with combining of various genres, even those seemingly very distant, like modern dance and modern puppet theater, can bring about very interesting results. (Halina Waszkiel, Teatr, 4/2012)
